Brown County, Kansas is a county located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 10724 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 10009, It is 41st most populous county in Kansas. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 572.2 sq mi (1481.99 sq km), of which, 570.67 square miles (1478.03 sq km) of it is land and 1.52 square miles (3.94 sq km) of it is water, making it the 13th smallest by size in Kansas.
