Broward County is a county located in Florida, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 1623018 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 1751234, It is Florida's second most populous county. It has total area of 1319.63 sq mi (3417.83 sq km), of which, 1205.4 square miles (3121.97 sq km) of it is land and 114.24 square miles (295.88 sq km) of it is water, making it Florida's 11th largest county by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1623018 people, 654445 households, and 411403 families residing in the county. The population density was 1346.5 people per square mile (519.89/kmē), making it the second most densely populated county in Florida. There were 741043 housing units at an average density of 614.8 per square mile (237.38/kmē). The average household size was 2.45 persons, and the average family size was 3.07 persons. The population's age distribution was 23.6% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 31.4% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 16.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.8 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 1751234, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 69.22% White, 25.53% Black or African American, 0.49% American Indian, 3.09% Asian, 0.16% Native Hawaiian, and 1.51% from two or more races.

Of which, total enrollment of student are in, 31928 nursery or pri school, 23331 kindergarten, 179168 elementary school, 87851 high school and 88536 College graduate school.
