Broussard Town, Lafayette Parish and St. Martin Parish counties, Louisiana is a town located in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 5874. The July 2008 population estimate is 7767, It is the 91st most populous in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The town has a total area of 11.42 sq mi (29.58 sq km), of which, 11.39 square miles (29.5 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 46th largest by total area among Louisiana.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 5874 people, 400 households, and 290 families living in the town. The population density was 515.7 people per square mile (199.11/kmē), it is Louisiana's 240th most densely populated town. There were 2346 housing units at an average density of 206 per square mile (79.54/kmē). The average household size was 2.67 persons, and the average family size was 3.11 persons.
