Brookneal Town, Campbell County, Virginia is a town located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1259 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 1249, It is Virginia's 227th largest by population . It has total area of 3.62 sq mi (9.38 kmē), of which, 3.5 square miles (9.06 kmē) of it is land and 0.12 square miles (0.31 kmē) of it is water, it is the 167th largest by area in the U.S. state of Virginia.

The population density was 360 people per square mile (139/kmē), it is 65th least densely populated town in Virginia.
