Bristol County is a United States county located in the United States of Massachusetts. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Bristol County is home to 534678 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 545823, It is the sixth most populous county in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. Its area is just over 691.19 sq mi (1790.17 square kilometre), of which, 556 square miles (1440.03 square kilometre) of it is land and 135.19 square miles (350.14 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the eighth largest by area in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. It is ranks sixth in the size of its inland waterways in Massachusetts.

The population density was 961.7 people per square mile (371.31/kmē), it would be the fifth most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. There were 216918 housing units at an average density of 390.1 per square mile (150.62/kmē). The average household size was 2.54 people, and the average family size was 3.08 people. In the county Age distribution was 24.6% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 108.3 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 113 females. Its population was estimated at 545823 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 92.66% White, 3.71% Black or African American, 0.36% American Indian, 1.77% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, and 1.44% from two or more races.
