Brigantine City is a United States city located in the Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. In 2000, city's population was 12594 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 12647 in July 2008, It is the 123rd largest in terms of population. It has total area of 9.79 square miles (25.36 square kilometre), of which, 6.43 square miles (16.65 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.36 square miles (8.7 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 40th largest by total area among New Jersey. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in New Jersey.

As of the census of 2000, there were 12594 people, 457 households, and 284 families residing in the city. The population density was 1959 people per square mile (756.37/kmē), it is New Jersey's 159th least densely populated city. There were 9304 housing units at an average density of 1447 per square mile (558.69/kmē). The average household size was 2.3 people, and the average family size was 2.89 people. The median age is 40.7 years, the median age of male residents at 39.9 and the median age of female residents at 41.7. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 83.15% White, 3.94% Black or African American, 0.18% American Indian, 5.72% Asian, 0.05% Native Hawaiian, 2.29% from two or more races and 4.67% Other races.
