Bridgeport City, Fairfield County, Connecticut is a city located in the Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. The city has a population of 139529 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 136405, making it the most populous in Connecticut. The city spans an area of 19.4 sq mi (50.25 square kilometre), of which, 16 square miles (41.44 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.4 square miles (8.81 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 18th largest by area in the U.S. state of Connecticut. It is ranks sixth in the size of its inland waterways in Connecticut.
