Braxton County, West Virginia is a county located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 14702 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 14700 in July 2008, It is the 17th smallest in terms of population. Its area is just over 516.17 square miles (1336.87 kmē), of which, 513.48 square miles (1329.91 kmē) of it is land and 2.69 square miles (6.97 kmē) of it is water, making it the 14th largest by size in West Virginia.
