Branson City is one of the city of Stone and Taney counties, Missouri, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 6050 as per the Census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 7651, It is Missouri's 113th largest by population . The city spans an area of 16.34 square miles (42.32 sq km), of which, 16.18 square miles (41.91 sq km) of it is land and 0.16 square miles (0.41 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 26th largest by total area in Missouri.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6050 people in the city, organized into 2701 households, and 1660 families residing in the city. The population density was 374 people per square mile (144.4/kmē), making its Missouri's 153rd least densely populated city. There were 3366 housing units at an average density of 208 per square mile (80.31/kmē). The average household size was 2.21 and the average family size was 2.76. In the Branson City, 20.3% of the population was under the age of 18, 8.2% were 18 to 24, 24.4% were 25 to 44, 27% were 45 to 64, and 20.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 86.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.2 males.
