Bradford County is a one of the county from Florida's 67 counties, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 26088 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 29012, It is the 18th least populous county in the U.S. state of Florida. The county comprises an area of 300.04 square miles (777.1 kmē), of which, 293.13 square miles (759.2 kmē) of it is land and 6.91 square miles (17.9 kmē) of it is water, giving it the second smallest by total area among Florida's county.

As of the census of 2000, there were 26088 people, 8497 households, and 6196 families residing in the county. The population density was 89 people per square mile (34.36/kmē), it is Florida's 37th most densely populated county. There were 9605 housing units at an average density of 32.8 per square mile (12.66/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.58 persons, and the average family size was 3.01 persons. In the county Age distribution was 21.9% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 32.1% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 12.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 127 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 132.5 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 29012, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 76.09% White, 21.45% Black or African American, 0.4% American Indian, 0.7% Asian, 0.11% Native Hawaiian, and 1.25% from two or more races.
