Bowie County is a county located in Texas, in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. In 2000, county's population was 89306 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 92283, making it the 40th most populous county in Texas. Its area is just over 922.77 sq mi (2389.96 kmē), of which, 887.87 square miles (2299.57 kmē) of it is land and 34.9 square miles (90.39 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 122nd largest by total area in Texas.
