Bowdle City is a city located in Edmunds County, South Dakota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The population of the city was 571 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 501, making it South Dakota's 130th largest. The city extends throughout a territory of 0.63 sq mi (1.63 sq km ), makes it the 181st largest by total area in South Dakota.
