Boundary County is a county located in Idaho, in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The population of the county was 9871 as per the 2000 census data. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 10962, It is the 25th most populous county in the U.S. state of Idaho. The county comprises an area of 1278.21 square miles (3310.55 kmē), of which, 1268.81 square miles (3286.2 kmē) of it is land and 9.4 square miles (24.35 kmē) of it is water, making it the 24th largest by size in Idaho.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 9871 residents, 3707 households, and 2698 families in the county. The population density was 7.8 people per square mile (3.01/kmē), making its Idaho's 24th most densely populated county. There were 4095 housing units at an average density of 3.2 per square mile (1.24/kmē). The average household size was 2.61 persons, and the average family size was 3.07 persons. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 29.2% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 24.4% from 25 to 44, 26.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 101.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.6 males. Its population was estimated at 10962 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 10489 White, 34 Black or African American, 254 American Indian, 72 Asian, 7 Native Hawaiian, and 106 from two or more races.
