Boone County is a county in the United States of West Virginia. In 2000, the population was 25535. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 24977, It is West Virginia's 26th most populous county. It has total area of 503.18 sq mi (1303.23 kmē), of which, 502.98 square miles (1302.71 kmē) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 kmē) of it is water, it is the 16th largest in terms of geographical size.
