Boone County is a county in the United States of Iowa. The population of county in 2000 stood at 26224 as per the Census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 26349, making it Iowa's 24th largest county. The county has a total area of 573.51 square miles (1485.38 sq km), of which, 571.46 square miles (1480.07 sq km) of it is land and 2.05 square miles (5.31 sq km) of it is water, it is the 43rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Iowa.
