Bonneville County, Idaho


Bonneville County is one of the 44 county of Idaho, located towards the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 82522 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 99135, giving it the fourth largest population among Idaho's county. Its area is just over 1900.65 sq mi (4922.66 sq km), of which, 1868.48 square miles (4839.34 sq km) of it is land and 32.18 square miles (83.35 sq km) of it is water, it is the 16th largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in Idaho.

As of the census of 2000, there were 82522 people in the county, organized into 28753 households, and 21463 families residing in the county. The population density was 44.2 people per square mile (17.07/kmē), it is the seventh most populated county in terms of population density. There were 30484 housing units at an average density of 16.3 per square mile (6.29/kmē). The average household size was 2.83 persons, and the average family size was 3.33 persons. In the Bonneville County, 32.1% of the population was under the age of 18, 9.5% were 18 to 24, 27.2% were 25 to 44, 21% were 45 to 64, and 10.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.2 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 99135, The racial makeup of the county was 96.44% White, 0.76% Black or African American, 0.72% American Indian, 0.73% Asian, 0.08% Native Hawaiian, and 1.26% from two or more races.
