Bonner Springs City is a one of the Johnson, Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties, Kansas, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 6768. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 7161, making it the 45th most populous in Kansas. The city spans an area of 16.05 sq mi (41.57 square kilometre), of which, 15.76 square miles (40.82 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.29 square miles (0.75 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 12th largest by total area among Kansas. It is ranks 12 in the size of its inland waterways in Kansas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6768 people in the city, organized into 2592 households, and 1824 families residing in the city. The population density was 429.4 people per square mile (165.79/kmē), it is 97th least densely populated city in Kansas. There were 2754 housing units at an average density of 174.7 per square mile (67.45/kmē). The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 3.11. In the Bonner Springs City, 28.2% of the population was under the age of 18, 8.5% were 18 to 24, 29.8% were 25 to 44, 20.7% were 45 to 64, and 12.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.2 males. The median age was 34.3 years, the median age of male residents at 31.2 and the median age of female residents at 36.6.
