Bonner County is a one of the county from Idaho's 44 counties, located in Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The county has a population of 36835 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 41168, making it the eighth most populous county in Idaho. The county has a total area of 1919.59 square miles (4971.72 sq km), of which, 1737.67 square miles (4500.54 sq km) of it is land and 181.92 square miles (471.17 sq km) of it is water, making it Idaho's 14th largest county by total area. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in Idaho.

As of the census of 2000, there were 36835 people, 14693 households, and 10264 families residing in the county. The population density was 21.2 people per square mile (8.19/kmē), it is the 14th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Idaho. There were 19646 housing units at an average density of 11.3 per square mile (4.36/kmē). The average household size was 2.49 persons, and the average family size was 2.94 persons. Age range in the county was well distributed with 25.5% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 25.4% from 25 to 44, 29.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.2 males. Its population was estimated at 41168 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 96.39% White, 0.31% Black or African American, 0.96% American Indian, 0.44% Asian, 0.05% Native Hawaiian, and 1.84% from two or more races.
