As of 2000 the population was 1876. making it the 41st least populous in Massachusetts. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the census designated place has a total area of 3.71 sq mi (9.61 sq km), of which, 3.66 square miles (9.48 sq km) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 sq km) of it is water, it is the 143rd largest in terms of geographical size.
