Blunt City is a city in the Hughes County, South Dakota, United States. In 2000, the population was 370. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 349, making it the 166th most populous in South Dakota. It covers total area of 0.49 sq mi (1.27 kmē), giving it the 206th largest by total area among South Dakota.

As of the census of 2000, there were 370 residents, 153 households, and 107 families in the city.
