Bleckley County is a county located in Georgia, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. Bleckley County had an official population of 11666 in 2000. The July 2008 population estimate is 12683, It is Georgia's 47th least populous county. It has total area of 219.14 miē (567.57 kmē), of which, 217.39 square miles (563.04 kmē) of it is land and 1.74 square miles (4.51 kmē) of it is water, it is the 26th smallest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 11666 people in the county, organized into 4372 households, and 3122 families living in the county. The population density was 53.7 people per square mile (20.73/kmē), making it the 84th most densely populated county in Georgia. There were 4866 housing units at an average density of 22.4 per square mile (8.65/kmē). The average household size was 2.52 persons, and the average family size was 3.02 persons. In the county Age distribution was 26.6% under the age of 18, 11.3% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 22.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 107.6 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 113 females. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 12683, The racial makeup of the county was 8985 White, 3461 Black or African American, 16 American Indian, 121 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, and 97 from two or more races.
