Blanco County is a county located in the United States of Texas. In 2000, county's population was 8418 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 9082, It is the 82nd smallest county by population in the U.S. state of Texas. The county encompasses an area of 713.41 mi˛ (1847.72 sq km ), of which, 711.24 square miles (1842.1 sq km) of it is land and 2.16 square miles (5.59 sq km) of it is water, making it Texas's 36th smallest county by total area.

There were 4031 housing units at an average density of 5.7 per square mile (2.2/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.5 persons, and the average family size was 2.96 persons. In the county Age distribution was 24.4% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 25.6% from 25 to 44, 27.1% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.9 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 9082, The racial makeup of the county was 8753 White, 140 Black or African American, 59 American Indian, 16 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, and 113 from two or more races.
