As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 125174, It is 28th most populous county in Pennsylvania. The county extends throughout a territory of 527.11 square miles (1365.21 kmē ), of which, 525.8 square miles (1361.82 kmē) of it is land and 1.31 square miles (3.39 kmē) of it is water, it is the 44th largest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.
