Blaine City is a United States city located in the Whatcom County, Washington, United States. The population of the city was 3770 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 4975, It is the 200th largest in terms of population. It covers total area of 8.49 square miles (21.99 kmē), of which, 5.54 square miles (14.35 kmē) of it is land and 2.95 square miles (7.64 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 106th largest by total area among Washington.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3770 people in the city, organized into 1496 households, and 1037 families living in the city. The population density was 680.4 people per square mile (262.7/kmē), it is the 329th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Washington. There were 1737 housing units at an average density of 313.5 per square mile (121.04/kmē). The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 2.96.
