Bladen County is a United States county located in the United States of North Carolina. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Bladen County is home to 32278 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 32312, It is North Carolina's 32nd least populous county. The county comprises an area of 887.13 square miles (2297.66 square kilometre), of which, 874.94 square miles (2266.08 square kilometre) of it is land and 12.19 square miles (31.57 square kilometre) of it is water, making it North Carolina's 11th largest county by total area.

The population density was 36.9 people per square mile (14.25/kmē), making its North Carolina's ninth least densely populated county. There were 15316 housing units at an average density of 17.5 per square mile (6.76/kmē). The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 2.97. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 24.6% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.7 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 32312, The racial makeup of the county was 19625 White, 11580 Black or African American, 756 American Indian, 62 Asian, 18 Native Hawaiian, and 271 from two or more races.
