Blackstone Town is a town located in Nottoway County, Virginia, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of the town was 3675 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 3582, making it the 147th most populous in Virginia. It is spread over 4.55 sq mi (11.78 square kilometre), of which, 4.53 square miles (11.73 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 145th largest by total area among Virginia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3675 residents, 1430 households, and 886 families in the town. The population density was 811.8 people per square mile (313.44/kmē), it is Virginia's 217th most densely populated town. There were 1581 housing units at an average density of 349 per square mile (134.75/kmē). The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 3.06. In the town the population was spread out, with 24.3% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 25.4% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 21.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 122.7 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 130.8 females. The median age was 40 years, the median age of male residents at 37.3 and the median age of female residents at 42. The racial makeup of the town was 50.23% White, 46.39% Black or African American, 0.03% American Indian, 0.71% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.76% from two or more races and 1.88% Other races.
