Beverly City is a city located in Essex County, Massachusetts, in the Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. In 2000, the population was 39862. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 39343, It is Massachusetts's 33rd largest by population . The city spans an area of 22.74 mi˛ (58.9 square kilometre), of which, 16.6 square miles (42.99 square kilometre) of it is land and 6.14 square miles (15.9 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 25th largest by total area in Massachusetts. It is ranks 12 in the size of its inland waterways in Massachusetts.
