Bethel City is a one of the Bethel Census Area, Alaska, located in Western Region (Pacific) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Bethel City is home to 5471 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 6468, making it Alaska's 12th largest. The city encompasses an area of 48.82 mi˛ (126.44 sq km ), of which, 43.76 square miles (113.34 sq km) of it is land and 5.07 square miles (13.13 sq km) of it is water, it is the 117th largest by area in the U.S. state of Alaska.
