Berrien County is a United States county located in the United States of Georgia. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Berrien County is home to 16235 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 17058, It is 96th most populous county in Georgia. The county comprises an area of 457.78 mi˛ (1185.64 sq km), of which, 452.41 square miles (1171.74 sq km) of it is land and 5.37 square miles (13.91 sq km) of it is water, it is the 41st largest by area in the U.S. state of Georgia.

The population density was 35.9 people per square mile (13.86/km˛), making its Georgia's 50th least densely populated county. There were 7100 housing units at an average density of 15.7 per square mile (6.06/km˛). The average household size was 2.57 persons, and the average family size was 3.03 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 27.2% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 22.9% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.8 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 17058, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 14694 White, 2049 Black or African American, 48 American Indian, 64 Asian, 17 Native Hawaiian, and 186 from two or more races.
