Bernardsville Borough is a borough located in Somerset County, New Jersey, in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. It is home to over 7345 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the estimated population was 7750, making it New Jersey's 223rd largest. Its area is just over 12.94 sq mi (33.51 kmē), of which, 12.93 square miles (33.49 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 21st largest by total area in New Jersey.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7345 people, 457 households, and 284 families residing in the borough. The population density was 568.1 people per square mile (219.34/kmē), giving it the 43rd least densely populated borough among the New Jersey. There were 2807 housing units at an average density of 217.1 per square mile (83.82/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.69 persons, and the average family size was 3.12 persons. In the Bernardsville Borough, 26.1% of the population was under the age of 18, 4.5% were 18 to 24, 28.7% were 25 to 44, 28% were 45 to 64, and 12.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.3 males. The median age is 40 years, the median age of male residents at 39.2 and the median age of female residents at 40.9.
