Berkeley County, West Virginia is a county of the United States of West Virginia. As of 2000 the population was 75905. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 102044, It is the second most populous county in the U.S. state of West Virginia. The county comprises an area of 321.58 square miles (832.89 kmē), of which, 321.14 square miles (831.75 kmē) of it is land and 0.44 square miles (1.14 kmē) of it is water, making it West Virginia's 15th smallest county by total area.

The population density was 236.4 people per square mile (91.27/kmē), it is West Virginia's sixth most densely populated county. There were 32913 housing units at an average density of 102.5 per square mile (39.58/kmē). The average household size was 2.53 and the average family size was 2.99. The population's age distribution was 25.7% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 31.3% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 11.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.4 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 102044, The racial makeup of the county was 92582 White, 7042 Black or African American, 265 American Indian, 791 Asian, 22 Native Hawaiian, and 1342 from two or more races.
