Berea City is a one of the Cuyahoga County, Ohio, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 18970 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 17987, It is the 93rd most populous in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is spread over 5.57 mi˛ (14.43 sq km), of which, 5.46 square miles (14.14 sq km ) of it is land and 0.11 square miles (0.28 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 184th largest by total area among Ohio.

As of the census of 2000, there were 18970 people in the city, organized into 7173 households, and 4469 families residing in the city. The population density was 3475.9 people per square mile (1342.05/km˛), it is Ohio's 65th most densely populated city. There were 7449 housing units at an average density of 1364.3 per square mile (526.76/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.35 persons, and the average family size was 3 persons. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 21.5% under the age of 18, 16.2% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 14.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.2 males.
