Bennington County is a one of the county from Vermont's 14 counties, located in Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. The county has a population of 36994 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 36382, It is the eighth largest county by population in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is spread over 677.67 mi˛ (1755.16 sq km), of which, 676.27 square miles (1751.53 sq km ) of it is land and 1.4 square miles (3.63 sq km) of it is water, making it Vermont's ninth largest county by total area.

The population density was 54.7 people per square mile (21.12/km˛), it is the eighth most populated county in terms of population density. In the county Population was distributed with 23.7% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 25.7% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.9 males.
