Benicia City, Solano County, California is a city located in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 26865 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 26174, It is the 255th largest by population in the U.S. state of California. The city encompasses an area of 15.6 mi˛ (40.4 square kilometre ), of which, 12.9 square miles (33.41 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.7 square miles (6.99 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 215th largest by total area among California.

The racial makeup of the city was 21195 White, 1295 Black or African American, 162 American Indian, 2031 Asian, 78 Native Hawaiian, 1392 from two or more races and 712 Ohter races.
