Belmar Borough is a United States borough located in the Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The population of borough in 2000 stood at 6045 as per the Census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 5908, It is the 257th most populous in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The borough comprises an area of 1.69 miē (4.38 kmē), of which, 1.02 square miles (2.64 kmē) of it is land and 0.67 square miles (1.74 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 327th largest by total area in New Jersey.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6045 residents, 457 households, and 284 families in the borough. The population density was 5921.7 people per square mile (2286.38/kmē), it is the 85th most populated borough in terms of population density. There were 3996 housing units at an average density of 3917.6 per square mile (1512.59/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.05 persons, and the average family size was 2.92 persons.
