It is 120th most populous in Virginia. The census designated place spans an area of 2.65 mi˛ (6.86 square kilometre), of which, 1.97 square miles (5.1 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.68 square miles (1.76 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 202nd largest by total area in Virginia.
