Bell County is a county located in Kentucky, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The population of the county was 30060 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 29055, It is 37th most populous county in Kentucky. Its area is just over 361.35 square miles (935.89 square kilometre), of which, 360.77 square miles (934.39 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.58 square miles (1.5 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 43rd largest by total area in Kentucky.

The population's age distribution was 24.4% under the age of 18, 9% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 91.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 29055, The racial makeup of the county was 27825 White, 744 Black or African American, 83 American Indian, 110 Asian, 23 Native Hawaiian, and 270 from two or more races.
