Bedford County is a one of the county from Virginia's 135 counties, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, county's population was 60371 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 66831, making it Virginia's 28th largest county. It covers total area of 769.25 square miles (1992.35 square kilometre), of which, 754.5 square miles (1954.15 square kilometre) of it is land and 14.75 square miles (38.2 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the seventh largest by area in the U.S. state of Virginia.
