Bedford County is a county located in the United States of Pennsylvania. In 2000, county's population was 49984 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 49727, giving it the 45th largest population among Pennsylvania's county. The county spans an area of 1017.4 miē (2635.05 kmē), of which, 1014.51 square miles (2627.57 kmē) of it is land and 2.89 square miles (7.49 kmē) of it is water, it is the 11th largest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.
