In July 2008, its estimated population was 32000, It is Minnesota's 33rd most populous county. The county comprises an area of 1445.11 miē (3742.82 kmē), of which, 1310.42 square miles (3393.97 kmē) of it is land and 134.69 square miles (348.85 kmē) of it is water, making it the 14th largest by size in Minnesota.
