Beacon City is a United States city located in the Mahaska County, Iowa, United States. Beacon City had an official population of 518 in 2000. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 527, making it the 464th most populous in Iowa. The city extends throughout a territory of 1.01 mi˛ (2.62 sq km ), making it Iowa's 371st largest by total area.
