Bay Head Borough is a borough located in the Ocean County, New Jersey, United States. As per the 2000 census, borough has a population of 1238 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 1265 in July 2008, It is the 46th least populous in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is spread over 0.7 sq mi (1.81 sq km), of which, 0.59 square miles (1.53 sq km ) of it is land and 0.11 square miles (0.28 sq km) of it is water, making it New Jersey's 44th smallest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1238 people in the borough, organized into 457 households, and 284 families residing in the borough. The population density was 2094.3 people per square mile (808.61/kmē), giving it the 334th most densely populated borough among the New Jersey. There were 1053 housing units at an average density of 1784.7 per square mile (689.08/kmē). The average household size was 2.12 people, and the average family size was 2.73 people. The population's age distribution was 15.4% under the age of 18, 4% from 18 to 24, 21.7% from 25 to 44, 33.7% from 45 to 64, and 25.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.3 males. The median age is 51.5 years, The median age of males was 50.6 years, for females the median age was 52.2 years. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 1213 White, 2 Black or African American, 1 American Indian, 7 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 9 from two or more races and 6 Ohter races.
