Baton Rouge City is a United States city located in the East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 227818 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 223689, It is the second largest by population in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The city spans an area of 79.06 square miles (204.76 square kilometre), of which, 76.84 square miles (199.01 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.22 square miles (5.75 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the fourth largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks 15 in the size of its inland waterways in Louisiana.
