Bath County is one of the 120 county of Kentucky, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The population of the county was 11085 as per the 2000 census data. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 11750, making it Kentucky's 30th smallest county. Its area is just over 283.94 square miles (735.4 sq km), of which, 279.46 square miles (723.8 sq km) of it is land and 4.48 square miles (11.6 sq km) of it is water, it is the 74th largest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 39.7 people per square mile (15.33/kmē), it is Kentucky's 36th least densely populated county. There were 4994 housing units at an average density of 17.9 per square mile (6.91/kmē). The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.93. In the county Age distribution was 24.2% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 14.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 102.4 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 105.4 females. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 11750, The racial makeup of the county was 96.79% White, 2.1% Black or African American, 0.26% American Indian, 0.02% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 0.83% from two or more races.
