Batesville City is a city located in Ripley and Franklin counties, Indiana, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. It is home to over 6033 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 6434, It is Indiana's 103rd largest by population . The city extends throughout a territory of 5.89 sq mi (15.26 sq km ), of which, 5.82 square miles (15.07 sq km) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 sq km) of it is water, it is the 81st largest by area in the U.S. state of Indiana.
