Batesville City is a city in the Independence County, Arkansas, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 9445 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 9511 in July 2008, It is the 36th most populous in the U.S. state of Arkansas. The city extends throughout a territory of 10.63 sq mi (27.53 kmē ), of which, 10.41 square miles (26.96 kmē) of it is land and 0.22 square miles (0.57 kmē) of it is water, it is the 42nd largest by area in the U.S. state of Arkansas.

The population density was 907.3 people per square mile (350.31/kmē), making its Arkansas's 111th most densely populated city.
