Batavia City, New York is a city of the Genesee County, New York, United States. In 2000, the population was 16256. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 15202, It is the 111th largest in terms of population. Its area is just over 5.25 sq mi (13.6 kmē), of which, 5.19 square miles (13.44 kmē) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 kmē) of it is water, making it New York's 182nd largest by total area.
