It covers total area of 11.29 square miles (29.24 sq km), of which, 9.15 square miles (23.7 sq km) of it is land and 2.14 square miles (5.54 sq km) of it is water, it is the 42nd largest by area in the U.S. state of Indiana. It is ranks sixth in the size of its inland waterways in Indiana.
