Basehor City is one of the city of Leavenworth County, Kansas, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 2238. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 4230, making it Kansas's 110th largest. It is spread over 3.14 mi˛ (8.13 sq km), it is the 68th largest by area in the U.S. state of Kansas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2238 residents, 830 households, and 651 families in the city. The population density was 712.3 people per square mile (275.02/km˛), giving it the 199th least densely populated city among the Kansas. There were 848 housing units at an average density of 270.1 per square mile (104.29/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.7 persons, and the average family size was 3.09 persons.
