The July 2008 population estimate is 75360, It is 20th most populous county in Indiana. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 409.36 square miles (1060.24 square kilometre), of which, 406.84 square miles (1053.71 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.52 square miles (6.53 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 39th largest by total area in Indiana.
